Sweet November

hello November!  First of all, where did October go?  I guess all the craziness with the hubby's job made our October kind of non-existent, but here we are and it is November.  Is it just me or is this year flying right by?  Anyways, fall has officially hit NC.  I know we were slow to get there, but boy did it hit us quickly, like overnight.  There I was enjoying the 70 degree weather to freezing my tooshie off.  If you know me, you know I hate being cold.  Hate it!  Even though I hate the cold, there are some things that I love about fall.

1. Boots, boots, and more boots!!!  Did I say boots!  Yes, I am kind of obsessed.  I have already bought two new pair this season (on sale of course)!  Now, I just need some cute clothes to go with them.

2. Chilly evenings with a cup of hot tea in my hand.  I love that warm feeling of drinking a simple cup of tea.

3. Wolfpack football.  Enough said.

4. Fall wreaths.  This was my first year making a fall wreath and I love it.

5. The leaves!  I love the colors of fall.  I love driving down the street under a canopy of orange, yellow, and red.

What are your favorite things about fall?

Ring Bling Link Up

C Mae is doing a fun little link up party over at her adorable blog called Bling Bling Share Your Ring!  I know it may seem a little vain but it is fun to look at everyone else's beautiful engagement rings and wedding bands.  I am so proud of my hubby for what he picked out.  My only criteria was that it had to be sparkly.  We didn't go look at rings before hand and he picked out my rock all by himself, it's perfect.  Here are the specs:  It is a brilliant cut diamond on a cathedral white gold setting.  1.04 carats.   If you want to read our proposal story, go HERE.

Project 31 Day 14: Style 31

Day 14.  Style 31.  Post an outfit pic!

First, please forgive the awful photo.  I just had to self-take it since I don't have a tripod or anyone else to take it.  Piper also decided she wanted to sneak in :)  So this is Style 31, post an outfit pic.  This is one of my go-to outfits for fall/winter.  It is comfy and easy.  The sweater is from Forever21, jeans from Old Navy.  The gray slouchy boots are my favorite!  I don't really have an immaculate closet, so whatever I can put together works.  I'm hoping to get more clothes for Christmas, so that I can share more outfits.

What is your favorite fall/winter outfit??

On another note, last night we got all dressed up and headed to Brandon's company Christmas party at the Westin.  I look forward to it every year.  Any opportunity to wear a pretty dress, right?  They had good food, lots of desserts, and a live band.  It was great to meet some of Brandon's coworkers and their wives.  What kind of Christmas parties are y'all going to this year?

Project 31 Day 4: Style 31

Day 4.  Style 31.  Post a pic of you in your favorite outfit.

Well folks, if you haven't noticed it is Summer time, which means it is about 95 degrees here in NC.  During the summer I live in shorts.  It is way too hot for jeans.  That being said, white shorts are a necessity.  They make everything so clean looking and go with everything.  I also love this shirt because it is very lightweight and has a nice summery feel.  It reminds me of something I would wear on a cruise, if I ever have the opportunity.  Anyways, here you go, this is my favorite outfit (for the moment, it changes all the time).  The best part, every piece was bought on sale!  I love a good deal and rarely shop regular price.

Shirt from the Limited on clearance

Shorts from American Eagle sale rack

Shoes from Marshall's
S0, what are some of your favorite items of clothing for the summer?

One for One

For my birthday I decided I wanted to get my first pair of Toms Shoes and my wonderful hubby obliged.  He originally bought me a Vera Bradley laptop case, but it ended up being too small for my computer, so this was a great alternative.  It was a hard choice, but I decided to go with the red Classics.  Having a size 11 foot that happens to be very narrow does not make for easy shoe shopping.  I went to one store and tried them on.  The 11 was too loose, but the 10 felt small.  Feeling discouraged, we left without my Toms.  I decided that I wanted to try them on again just to make certain.  I tried on size 10 and it is snug, but the clerk said they would stretch a good half size, so I decided to go with them.  I am still trying to figure out what to wear them with, red is a dicey color but I love them (any suggestions would be appreciated).  They are so comfy and feel like I am wearing socks.  I am so excited to have them and to know that I was able to send a pair of shoes to a child.
